The boxes were all stacked up, lining the porch and path around Arianna's house. Her parents had just come by to drop off the last of her belongings, and wish her luck. The whole scene had been far too emotional for her taste, but she appreciated the free labor. Her father had even brought the larger furniture into the house for her. It was a slightly saddening thought to realize it wouldn't be much longer before her classic "daddy please" wouldn't work.
Arianna couldn't complain. She had had the luck of finding a home in the all wizarding neighborhood, free to use her magic as she pleased. As it should be she thought, tapping a box of dishes as they became feather light. Sliding it under her arm, she entered the house, the walls blank, the carpets bland. As much as she resented fashion, she couldn't stand a boring house. Her surroundings had to represent what she was feeling. Setting the dishes upon the counter in the kitchen, she moved back down the porch to grab the rest.
It was a hot summer day, the sun beating down without a cloud in sight. Arianna paused, tying her long black hair up as she brushed at her dress, grateful that she had worn the summer dress today. She would have been dying of heat in anything else. Deciding it was time to take a break, she propped herself on the railing of the porch, watching the people of Hogsmeade mill about, the children laughing and playing. A young boy flew by on a broom as she smiled.
Although settling down meant none of the adventure of the unknown, Arianna still felt a small sense of security. Her lifestyle was safe here. Out there, on her wild travels of the world, her magic had been a deadly secret. Here, she was at home. She stood, ready to finished the last of the boxes before she realized someone was approaching...

Ariadne strode up to Arianna's house, curious as to when the girl had moved. It looked fairly recent, but she couldn't be too sure. Ariadne and Arianna, both being rather renowned Slytherin Purebloods, had been friends in school. Though the Malfoy rarely called anyone her friend, Arianna was definitely considered one of the few. It was nice to know that the older girl had returned to London, for Ariadne was looking forward to working with her. Ariadne had joined the Death Eaters, and Draco couldn't have been more proud of his eldest daughter. Ariadne was looking forward to going on missions for the cause, though she hadn't met many of her fellow Death Eaters.
The night she'd joined, her father had given her a list of important people. At the top of the list, of course, had been Draco, who seemed to have the delusion that he was running the group. People Ariadne had never met filled the middle, but towards the bottom Ariadne had been happy to see Arianna's name. It was a strange thing, since the young girl had gotten to be the owner of Borgin and Burke's, but Ariadne wasn't complaining. It gave her an excuse to visit her old friend.

Ariadne approached as a smile, a rare thing indeed, crossed Arianna's face. She recalled the talented Ariadne, who had been one of her partners in crime during her school years. She was a welcome face in the horror of finally settling down. Of course, Arianna had heard that Ariadne had joined the Death Eater ranks, and couldn't have been more thrilled to work beside her friend. Their families had always been close, and that was no exception for the two girls.
"Hello darling," Arianna greeted with that smile that was reserved only for the best. She shaded her eyes against the sun. "I believe congratulations are in order. How does it feel to be a real witch?" She asked. Of course, the meaning could have gone two ways. Not only for the graduation of Hogwarts, but for joining the powerful ranks. Of course, they both knew which was meant with the vague meaning. Truth be told, knowing a few familiar faces in the ranks of the Death Eaters made it easier for Arianna to give up her worldly travels, if only by a bit.

"Feels wonderful," Ariadne replied, grinning. She lightly hugged Arianna, pecking her on both cheeks before stepping back. She'd gone for a casual look that day, choosing a pair of jean shorts and a t-shirt of her favorite Muggle band, black Converse covering her feet. Ariadne absently played with the emerald ring upon her finger, a graduating present from her mother. "How was traveling?" she asked, smiling a bit. Ariadne couldn't help but be a bit jealous of the older girl. It must've been nice, being able to see the world.

Arianna gestured to the open door. "Care to come inside?" She lead her old friend into the cool house as she sat on sofa across from Ariadne. "Wonderful," she answered the question, another smiling pulling at her lips. The mere thoughts of the wild adventures of the unknown still brought a feeling of freedom to her. Although, mentioning that it had been in the past was saddening. "Might have to bring you with me next time," she mused, crossing one leg over the other.
Her eyes scanned the porch outside as she pulled her wand out. The door shut, locking quietly as she brought her gaze back to Ariadne. A wide grin pulled at her fair face. "So, tell me. How have you been?" She asked. She was fascinated to hear what had happened to Hogwarts in her absence. If they had made progress in weeding out the lesser wizards, if her friend had found someone worth while, and most of all, how the Death Eaters were fairing.

Ariadne followed Arianna inside, smiling softly. At the proposition, she couldn't help but smirk. "Only if Daddy Dearest let's me out of the house," she replied with a small, sarcastic laugh. Lord only knew her father was completely insane when it came to his childrens' freedom, for whatever reason. It seemed odd to her, seeing as how he allowed his children to put themselves into harms way and become Death Eaters. His logic never failed to confuse her, but, so long as she got what she wanted, she could care less.
Sitting across from Arianna, Ariadne stretched out on the unique looking armchair, glancing around the room and the boxes and exotic knick-knacks scattered across the spacious house. "I've been lovely. Found myself a good man, finally. The Bad Gryffindor, you remember Stefan, don't you?" she asked, beaming proudly. He had been her closest friend for the longest time, so the progression from friends to lovers seemed almost natural. "And yourself?" she inquired, eyebrows raised as she watched Arianna.

Arianna listened intently, twisting a strand of black hair around her finger. Of course, the pride in her voice was no surprise to Arianna. She had always foreseen the couple as a pair, or as the end of each other. She smiled. "Wonderful," she tucked the hair behind her ear. She knew the traveling was a long stretch with Draco. He was as any parent, fearing for the safety of his children. Of course, soon, there would be no more need to fear. It had been the pleadings of her own parents that had brought the free spirit back, chaining her in one place.
"You and Stefan must come by sometime, when I finally get all of this mess sorted through," Arianna hadn't seen the Gryffindor in quite sometime. Besides, her curiosity was killing her. She regretted not having been there to see the infamous couple come together, and to see them together must have been quite something. "Care for some tea?" She waved her wand, the oriental tea pot she had received from a Tibetan monastery was a particular pride of hers. It floated from an open box stacked by the kitchen as it filled itself with water, obediently resting on the stove.
